  • What devices are supported?

ZapBox will work well on any iPhone device from the iPhone 6 onwards.
For Android, the Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 3 work well. Samsung Galaxy S7, S8 and Note 8 also offer reasonable performance. We are continuing to work on improving the ZapBox experience for the more recent Samsung devices.
With the plethora of other Android devices on the market it’s impossible for us to test all of them. We strongly recommend you use our ‘print at home’ PDF which you can access here and test with your device first to check performance.
  • Why are there multiple variants?

You might have noticed that we offer slightly different versions of ZapBox, which are identified as variant A, B, C, and D. These variants are all functionally identical, but make use of distinct pointcodes. Different variants can be used in the same physical space by multiple people without interfering with each other.
Full app support for collaborative experiences is still in development, but by ordering multiple kits now we will ensure you are shipped distinct variants so you will be able to make use of these collaborative experiences in future.
  • Can I use anything other than ZapWorks Studio to create content for ZapBox?

ZapWorks Studio and ZapBox are both products created by Zappar, and the integration between them offers developers a purpose-built and well-documented way to create content.
With ZapWorks Studio you can instantly preview your content in the ZapBox app and share it via a zapcode for the whole community to enjoy.
Currently ZapWorks Studio is the only supported tool for creating ZapBox content.
  • Do I need so many pointcodes in the world?

We are continuing to improve our vision technologies to reduce the number of pointcodes whilst maintaining a high bar for performance. There are also continuing improvements to both the tracking quality of individual codes, along with sensor fusion with device accelerometer and gyroscope, which provides solid tracking with fewer codes in view.
We are working to integrate pointcode tracking with our “world tracking” implementation, which will make use of natural visual features in your environment to further reduce the number of world pointcodes required for good tracking.
  • Are shipments tracked?

Shipments are sent tracked in the UK. For other countries the tracked shipping cost is prohibitive, so we ship ZapBox untracked. Orders for 4 ZapBox units will be sent as two shipments with two units in each.
  • Can I order more than 4 ZapBoxes?

If you would like to order more than 4 ZapBoxes then please get in touch via our contact form.
  • What are your terms of sale?

You can read the ZapBox Terms of Sale here.
If you do believe you qualify for a refund on your ZapBox purchase, you can download the cancellation form and email it to us at contact@zappar.com.
