We like to think that Licensing Expo 2013 was bigger and better for Zappar. Our booth was certainly bigger, upgrading from the size of a telephone booth last year to the floor space of an average New York studio apartment this year.

Vegas baby!

We like to think that Licensing Expo 2013 was bigger and better for Zappar. Our booth was certainly bigger, upgrading from the size of a telephone booth last year to the floor space of an average New York studio apartment this year.

Caspar, Kirk and Max set off for three days of meetings, presentations, demonstrations and the world’s largest exchange of business cards.

As always, the organisers put on a fantastic panel of speakers with top executives from Warner Bros., Disney and Walmart all delivering thought provoking keynotes.

The opportunities are truly global. One in every three visitors came from outside the United States, with attendance from Japan, increasing by 35 percent, and a 20 percent increase in visitors from South America, driven by Brazil and Chile.  This was certainly reflected at our booth.

A lot of the conversation around Zappar and Augmented Reality was from the retail and packaging industries, as well as the Zappar Powered product initiatives.

Using Zappar in shopping environment to engage consumers and boost sales has piqued the interest of retailers, licensees and licensors alike.

With the upcoming launch of the self-serve Zapcode Creator system the application of Augmented Reality across business verticals will become inherently scalable.

It was inspiring to meet so many enthusiastic people that are chomping at the bit to utilise this for their industries. To have visitors evangelise the benefits of Zapcodes over marker-less AR and QR codes was great to hear.

Until next year!
