Zappar, the leader in Augmented Reality (AR) enabled products and entertainment experiences, has teamed up with Asda to transform Asda stores into a Big Shop of Horrors. Asda shoppers will be greeted by Sir Spook and his colleagues, as they are guided round the store on a free haunted hunt on Saturday 26th October in 406 stores.
After the success of the UK’s first-ever Augmented Reality Easter Egg Hunt earlier this year, Asda and Zappar are working together to create an unforgettable Halloween event, allowing customers to play games along the way and take home a Halloween prize.
By downloading the free Asda app onto a smartphone or tablet and zapping the trapdoor in the store foyer, Sir Spook will begin the haunted hunt. Shoppers will have a virtual shopping list that they will need to fulfill by solving his riddles and finding the other trapdoors around the store. Once completed, the successful hunters will receive a free gift to take home.
The magic does not end there as shoppers will meet Sir Spook’s colleagues on the journey, have the opportunity to pose for photos with Sir Spook, and take home a Sir Spook mask. Asda colleagues will be on hand to help those without a smartphone and a special zappable edition of the Asda magazine will be available for those that cannot make it to a store.
This exclusive experience is free and customers should download the Asda app in advance to get ready for the hunt and for their chance to win £100.
