Introducing Bunny Mail: The First Augmented Reality Messaging System
Zappar is introducing a new augmented reality messaging system. With the free, downloadable Zappar app, you can now send a three-dimensional, animated Bunny Mail to friends and family. You will also be able to take a photo of yourself for the messenger Bunny to hold up on a mask, when delivering messages to your recipients.
Using a word wizard of over 150 carefully selected words and ridiculous greetings you will be able to construct special messages of up to 6 key phrases to send to that special someone. Just one example could be:
“Your sworn enemy has sent me here to say…A message from me must be the highlight of your week right? Bet you can’t get over here before I text this picture of you to your mom. Brace yourself!”
Once you’ve decided on your ‘greetings,’ you can send them via email or Facebook for others to view. Your recipient will just have to open up the Zappar app and zap the picture on their Wall or email to see the message.
“Zappar is always experimenting with the potential of augmented reality to deliver more everyday fun between people,” said Caspar Thykier, co-founder and managing director of Zappar. “This is really just another step in creating fun social tools using our platform for people to share. Consider it as a beta version of even greater things to come.”
Kirk Ewing, creative director of Zappar adds, “Everyone’s familiar with the old magic trick of pulling a rabbit out of the hat. Well, we’re helping everyone pull their very own bunny out of their mobile devices. A cross between an e-card and a text message, Bunny Mails are for that special occasion where only a 3D bunny with a Brooklyn accent will do – you know exactly the occasions we’re talking about.’
The messaging system will be available in the Zappar app – downloadable in the Apple and Android app stores – and usable on Apple and Android phones and mobile devices.
